What's happening at Event Fire.

Here we have our new 08 plate Yamaha Rhino side by side quad, It carries a 250L water tank with foam capabilities and has 2 hyperfog banches on 30m hosereels, it can also draw from open water for greater range and flexibility.

This vehicle has a fantastic off road capability as well as being road registered and it is availiable as a standalone appliance or as a supliment to our normal fire appliances.

Event fire staff trained in swiftwater rescue.

Several staff members are now trained in swiftwater rescue (see training pics below) this enables us to provide extra safety services at events near rivers and lakes, this will assist organisers when  applying for licences where open water is a concern.

Event Fire Services are pleased to offer swiftwater training for your staff, please email for details. dave@eventfireservices.co.uk

The following is an extract from the HSE report into the jet car crash at Elvington, this clearly shows the need for on site fire & rescue cover combined with medical services.

Investigation into the accident of Richard Hammond

Accident involving

RICHARD HAMMOND (RH)

On

20 SEPTEMBER 2006

At

Elvington Airfield, Halifax Way, Elvington

EFFECTIVENESS of PREVENTIVE MEASURES - taken by dutyholder(s)

1. The fact that RH survived this well publicised, spectacular crash owed much to:

    1. i. The professionalism and speed of response of the on and off-site paramedic and fire and rescue services (namely, Inter County Paramedics, Event Fire Services and Yorkshire Air Ambulance) and the treatment that RH received in the neurological unit a Leeds General Infirmary. The BBC in liaison with PTLE had commissioned on-site provision.

The full report can be read here.

The Richard Hammond crash we attended at Elvington airfield was shown on BBC 2's Topgear program on the 28th of Jan.

We are very happy to have had a part in his rescue, along with Intercounty paramedics.

We would like to wish Richard all the best in the future from all the lads at Event Fire Services.

The crash and pictures of the jet car before and after can be seen from the links below.

The importance of safety crews and paramedics at these type of events is demonstrated clearly on the film below with our fire appliance reaching the crash site in just seven seconds with the ambulance arriving just after, The county ambulance and fire service arrived very quickly, but the casualty had already been extricated from the vehicle on a spinal board and was ready to be loaded onto the air ambulance.

Going Green!

Event Fire Services are proud to announce that as from Jan 07 all our diesel powered vehicles will be running on biodiesel.

The fuel we are using is a blend of reclaimed and new corn oil and has vastly reduced harmful emmisions as well as being an easily produced non fossil fuel.

sponsorship opportunity!

We provide our services on a cost + basis which enables small shows and events to have the benefits of an on site fire and rescue team.

This means we are able to offer advertising space on our vehicles and website to help raise further funds for new equipment.

We would be especialy pleased to hear from specialist fire and rescue equipment suppliers and vehicle manufacturers / distributors.

In return we can offer advertising space on our vehicles, fire tunics, shirts and website.

Our vehicles have been shown on tv several times including chanel 4's Monster truck racing series from 2005.
(6 half hour shows with the vehicle shown 28 times in one episode alone, including fighting a monster truck fire)

Also more recently we have had a lot of news coverage on tv and the national newspapers.

We also cover the very popular Truckfests at all their uk shows with over 300,000 people attending, with Truckfest  Scotland having its own fire service display.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor please call 07973 416718 or email Dave@eventfireservices.co.uk for a speedy response.
